The next instalment in the #ReadingRoomsProGuide blog series focuses on the customisable preview pages feature included in the paid service of book marketing platform, Reading Rooms for Books.
Customisable Preview Pages Explained
This feature allows publishers to make any section of a book open digitally, whether that be the first few and last few pages, a whole chapter(s), or double-page spreads throughout.

e.g. A City in Blue and Green, published by Springer Open, has the Introduction, Chapter 3, and Glossary available for preview.

e.g. Boughton: The House, its People and its Collections, published by Cornucopia, has visual double pages spreads throughout available for preview.

In the free service (ISBN Reading Rooms), publishers can select from a set drop down menu the number of pages available to preview at the front and back.

The ‘skip feature’ allows readers to easily navigate between preview pages.

Why Share Excerpts of Books Digitally?
- Connects the book with a larger audience. The book preview links are verstile and can be shared in any digital context or printed off as QR codes to be used in physical marketing materials.
- Gives readers a feel for the content. How much of the book is available for preview is entirely flexible, allowing the publisher to decide which pages best showcase the book.
- Directly link with your online shop pages. Publishers can re-direct readers back to a website page of their choice through the ‘Buy here’ button.
