New regular column Podcast Parade, featuring library industry podcast reviews by Exact Editions, has been launched by library industry website Charleston Hub. Each instalment includes key information and analysis, serving as an essential guide to librarians who want to deepen their industry knowledge through an audio medium.

The column starts with basic information such as number of episodes and their length, as well as a summary. More detailed analysis follows, including a break down of the format, the hosts and guests, and highlights both ‘a nice touch’ and ‘an area for improvement’ before giving an overall opinion.

Column author Jake Thompson, who is a Marketing & Account Manager at Exact Editions, said: “Podcasts are a really exciting medium through which librarians can share knowledge, inspire change and collaborate. With so many to choose from, the column is designed to give a digestible summary to help librarians decide which content is the most relevant to them.”

Associate Director of Charleston Hub, Caroline Goldsmith, remarked: “Libraries are currently facing challenges from navigating technological advances and digital transformation to  managing budget cuts and ensuring equal access to resources. The Podcast Parade column has helped cut through the noise and shone a light on podcasts that will assist librarians in tackling these issues head on.”
