Exact Editions is pleased to announce that the full archive of Jazznytt is now available on its digital platform. Archived from its very first issue published in 1960, subscribers can now access over 250 back issues and explore the vast wealth of information on jazz music.

Founded in 1960, Jazznytt has since its publication been Norway’s only magazine dedicated to jazz and its quarterly issues provide an essential resource for anyone interested in this music. Jazznytt celebrates jazz as an open and diverse art form, and traces its connections with contemporary music, pop and folk music as well as its roots in a strong tradition.

Jazznytt’s digital archive is available across web, iOS and Android platforms

Every issue contains a dynamic mix of interviews, essays, features, record and book reviews, regular columns such as ‘Blindfold Test’ and ‘Hidden Treasures’, as well as photography and illustration that pictures the past, present and future of jazz. Norwegian and Nordic artists are the main focus, but issues also cover important international currents too.

Jazznytt is an arena for lively writing on music and the culture surrounding it, and its contributor list contains some of the finest music writers in Norway, Scandinavia and the world, both young and old. It is published in Norwegian. The editor since 2014 is Rob Young, formerly of The Wire magazine, who currently lives in Oslo.
